Evgeny,

First boot up the LINUX Install program via boot disk, HD, CD-Rom, etc.
Next, I like to use the "expert" mode at the prompt because it lets you
select exactly what you want to have installed. At the prompt for what
partition software you want to use, I find Disk Druid (DD) the easiest.
When the DD interface appears you will see your hard drive with two
partitions "hda1 & hda2" (You must know which one is not containing your
Winblows 98 software). Highlight the unused partition and tab down to
delete and remove the second unused partition. Next tab to add and add a
LINUX swap partition (max 127Meg). Then go to add again and add a partition
with a "/" as the partition. Tab to done and let DD take over. You will be
prompted twice before installation begins asking which partitions to set as
swap and root respectively. From there sit back and let the installation
proceed. When all of the software is installed decide weather to set up a
printer and what service you want started up a boot time. If you want to
dual boot Win and LINUX have the installation write LILO to the boot
partition. Upon restarting, you would either type in dos or linux at the
boot prompt to select the OS you wish to use.

(This is a basic setup for newbi's and is the quickest method)

P.S. Don't forget to make sure you "MAKE A BOOT DISK!!!!!!!"

Any questions email me.
