Packeteer Adds Response Time Management to Packetshaper,
Providing Everything Needed to Set and Enforce SLAs

A new report from Bear, Stearns & Co. called Packeteer's
PacketShaper bandwidth management system "the only solution
on the market that can look deep into each packet and help
achieve real QoS." Now, Packeteer has added application
response-time management (RTM) to PacketShaper, enabling
network managers to measure the performance of applications,
then set policies ensuring performance conforms to enterprise
requirements. With RTM, application performance problems,
often caused by extreme variability in network delay, can be
correlated to network congestion. PacketShaper is the first
solution to provide all three features necessary to control
application service levels across congested WANs.

Time to Outsource?

Whether you need to reduce costs, boost staffing levels or
gain needed technical expertise, outsourcing may be the
answer. Top outsourcing candidates include desktop support,
help-desk services, and network infrastructure design and
support. If any of these projects are in your future -- or if
you're simply struggling with growing workloads amid the IT
worker shortage -- it may be time to bring in an experienced
systems integrator. AVCOM is the source for all of your
hardware/software needs AND technical expertise in
networking, high availability, e-commerce and more.
