I believe part of the installation requires you to enter a password
for "root". You should have had to enter it twice right after
configuring a printer -- at least that what hapened on the
installation I did. I can't find anything about changing it if you
forget it or didn't do that part -- may need to reinstall to set the
root password. If the problem is at the lilo prompt then type "linux"
to boot linux then login as root and enter your password -- then you
can add a new login name with the command 'useradd' followed by the
new login name and press enter. then use the command "passwd"
followed by the new login name , enter that and it will prompt you
twice for a new password.
