Helloooo Linux world!

Just got through installing 5.0 with the default settings other than I chose
the 'unlisted' video driver (mine is an ATI Rage Pro Turbo PCI & was not
listed) but chose the mach64 server setting option towards the end of setup.
I use Partition magic so I skipped the Lilo option. I have W98, NT4
workstation, & WfWG 3.11 loaded on this machine, all of which still work.
When I choose Linux from PM's boot loader I get a black screen with the text
Preparing to load " My OS " and three dots below that line with a flashing
cursor several lines down. I have to hard re-boot to get out...any ideas??
