 Hi,
first test that ppp is installed.
/usr/sbin/pppd -version
this should get an err msg but you should se the verison of pppd.

then test that the modem is working properly, use terminal program minicom to test it.
call your ISP (atdt xxxxxxx ) and then test that you can login .

then when that is working:

Put these files under /etc/ppp :

/etc/ppp/options
debug
/dev/cua1
115200
modem
crtscts
lock
connect /etc/ppp/net-connect
asyncmap 0
defaultroute

/etc/ppp/net-chat
TIMEOUT 50
ABORT '\nBUSY\r'
ABORT '\NO ANSWER\r'
ABORT '\nRINGING\r\n\r\n\r'
'' \rAT&C1&D2q0V1X4
OK 'ATDTxxxxxx' # Phone nr: to ISP
CONNECT ''
name: xxxxxx # login name
word: xxxxxx # passwd
net> PPP

/etc/ppp/net-connect
#!/bin/bash
/usr/sbin/chat -v -t 60 -f /etc/ppp/net-chat

** turn on execution bit on file ***

this should work!
