Pleas Help ME!!!!!

Problem....a guy brought his hard drive in to be partioned and formatted...said his son screwd it up... Its a 30 gig hdd...but every bios I have tried only sees it as an 8 gig....the customer mentioned he wanted to load linux on this drive when it was done....I suspect that he had tried already....will a linux partion make the portion of the drive unseeable? If so what can I do to attain the whole 30 gig back....thanks for your help!!!!

Have you tried FDISK /MBR ?
