I have just borrowed a book from the library (Learn Linux in 24 hours
(!!!)). This came with a version of Caldera Linux v2.2.5. Great!
The problem I have is that no matter how much I try I can't get the sound or
the modem to configure - and believe me I have tried everything! I have now
been using this book for 56 hours and am starting to get wound up!
Also if I download a Linux file via windows is there any way that I can read
it from my linux setup?
W.Beardy
P.s. I had a version of COREL Linux and it used to hand during
installation with an 0X10 error - or something similar - any ideas?

ALSA stands for Advanced Linux Sound Architecture and has successfully detected and installed my sound card. As for the modem, I have a cable modem and have no clue how to help you on that one. Although, have you tried KPPP? > >Also if I download a Linux file via windows is there any way that I can read >it from my linux setup? For the setup, I don't know but afterwards switch to mnt/windows and you are there! Hope this helps! > >W.Beardy > > P.s.
