I have the latest dosemu running in Mandrake7.2. I would like to get the serial ports com1 and com2 working. I have edited dosemu.conf to assign com1 and com2 and have the irq running (I think) dosemu.conf edits: $_irqpassing = "3 4" for IRQs 3 and 4 $_com1 = "/dev/cua0" for com port 1 $_com2 = "/dev/cua1" for com port 2 If I use a dos port testing program PORTS.EXE it returns info that com1 and com2 are assigned and have the correct addresses and irqs. (No LED activity on port tester when this is run) But when I run any dos program (under dosemu) that uses or tests com1 and com2 I get nothing. ie. I have a com port tester (with leds) that shows com port activity.. Nothing shows.. The same ports on this computer work fine in msdos. I also get port (led) activity during linux booting when it tests for the ports.. So I know linux sees the ports. I assume I do not have something configured correctly in dosemu. Can anyone help? Thanks Sawadee

have you linked the device (modem) to the ports ? if you have not it will not respond try in the /dev/ dir ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/modem or ttyS1 whatever your modem is on the Linux install will automaticlly assign the ports to there relative (devices) ttyS0 etc... so all you should have to do is create the link between the two as above hope this helps Good Luck !

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I am not trying to connect to a modem.. I am trying to use both comm ports. This dos program uses both comm ports to talk to external devices.. They are not modems... Do I need to connect the comm ports to something to make the work as comm ports? Thanks
