Silicon Valley based Venture Capital Firm.

Our technology recruiting group in Los Angeles is searching for a top notch
SQL Server DBA, to join the IS team for one of our most exciting client
companies.  The company is a well funded Internet related start-up.  It is
backed
by a public company which has has partnered with the Wall St. Journal  for
the
delivery of its services.  The company is located in Sherman Oaks, CA.  Its
products and services are based upon a 3-tiered client server architecture
with a web based front end.

Our client has and will continue to develop very innovative and
exciting new technologies.  In short order they have experienced an
enormous amount of success.  Their success fueld by a built in base of
clients and
inventory through their parent company and venture partners.  This company
is poised for rapid growth, profitability and increased value.

This is a ground floor opportunity to become one of the most key players in
this fast growing database technology driven company.  The position comes

The right candidate will be an expert DBA - experienced with SQL Server.
You will be the "Gatekeeper" of the data, manage all phases of Database
Administration including backups, replication, and new release updates.  You
will work with developers and network administrators on the maintenance of
existing products and the design of new versions of our clients web-based
database driven products and services.

The company's CTO sees this as one of the most crucial and important jobs in
the
company.  He wants a DBA who has a "can-do" attituted, is a problem
solver, self motivated, works independently, and needs very little
management or
guidance to get the job done.  Someone who has been or works with a
"consultant"
mentality is the right person for this job.

Right now the IS team is a small group of 7, and will expand in the next few
months to between 10 and 12.  This is a high visibility position in a
rapidly
growing company.  You will have the opportunity to extablish the base
configurations and guidlines upon which the company will continue to run.
Ultimately you will have the opportunity to manage a database administration
team.

The salary is negotatiable ,commensurate with experince and is estimated at
aprroximately $75K to $95K. Yet possibly the most exciting and valuable
portion of compensation are the generous stock options.  Its conceivable
that in the next 2-3 years those options can be worth 10-20 times their
current value.
