I have the Global Village 33.6 Speakerphone.  No one can hear me, either! 
Furthermore, the "award-winning software" insists on picking up the phone
after two rings, even though I have it set NOT to pick up the phone.  It's
supposed to wait until I or my external answering machine have picked up. 
Then, if it detects a fax tone, it should receive the fax.  I have to
leave my modem turned off when I'm not actually on-line; otherwise when
someone calls, he/she is treated to a rude and annoying fax tone, and my
answering machine cannot work.  
I e-mailed GV tech support, and they replied after only 2 days, advising
me to reinstall the software, which I did.  But that did not help.  I
e-mailed them again on Feb 28.  It's now March 11, and I have not received
a reply!  

I used to have a US Robotics Sportster 14.4 and never had a bit of trouble
with it!
