I disagree entirely.   I am quite happy to read posts (on
alt.comp.shareware)  in any language I understand and to ignore them in
languages I don't.   I am very pleased that the guy found a solution to his
problem.

If you really want to see what devalues newsgroups you don't have to look
too far (on alt.comp.shareware)  - and it has nothing to do with national
language.

If there were a us.comp.shareware or a uk.comp.shareware I would expect
posts in English - but the internet is now international and has to
comprehend a mutilingual world.

Of course most posts here will be in English as they get the widest
readership, but that's no reason to get shirty about the others.  Lets's be
a bit cosmopolitan about this.

(Und in diesem Fall: mein Deutsch ist gar nicht perfekt aber ich habe diesen
Faden  - sagt man Faden auf Deutsch? -  ohne Schwierigkeit gelesen.)
