FreeAgent: decoding non-binaries????

I'm using FreeAgent v1.1 to read news messages. I'm able to decode
binary attachments. But I'm not able to decode non-binary attachments,
i.e. JPEGs that are encoded with Base64 or uuencoded. Who can tell me
how to decode THESE attachments with FreeAgent?????? If I try it the
way I do with binary attachments, it doesn't work because FreeAgent
tells me that it has not found any binary attachments. The only thing
I can see are these unreadable letters I also see before decoding
binary attachments?? Who can solve this problem???
