I have noticed a considerable difference in the price of GeForce 2 cards depending on manufacturer. The well known brands are much more expensive than other "unknown" brands -- such as Apollo. Anybody have any experience in this area -- are all cards with the same chipset much the same . I do realise that some cards have additional features . I'm really only looking for a basic GeForce 2 based card to play games with -- no need for TV out , DVD, etc. Barry

Most Geforce cards are based on the same reference design, so you will not find much difference between them apart of the bundled utilities.

(MX & GTS with either 32 or 64Meg of RAM) Havn't figured out the difference between MX & GTS yet myself....is it the SDRAM vs DDR thing? Anyone able to chip in & explain & also suggest how fast the various cards are on a scale of 1-10 (and where would a GEForce 3 be in relation??) I.

There are big differences, plus now there are different types of GeForce MX's. Generally, the MX is quite crippled (which is the term used by pretty much everyone to describe it). But still it's cheap. Another poster had some descriptions, and also try the GideonTech.com site. "Iain Miller" <DoNot@spam.me> wrote in message news:9e9chl$f0n$1@newsg2.svr.pol.co.uk...
