Sounds like an onboard cache problem. > > Well, it didn't. Windows then said "Windows Protection error. You need to > restart your computer". You love it. > > Now, when I put my old P2 back in, it worked fine. So, my question is this- > do I need special speed memory to use with a P3/ 440BX motherboard? I know > there are 100MHz speed DIMMS out there, but I am not entirely sure that I > have them in my system? Unlikly. The problem is more likly to be due to the architecture of the P3. I would makesure your m/b can handle a P3. Then find teh jumper switch to tell it that its a P3 (all this info should be in your manual) Or if you cant do this then try to disable the onboard cache for the motherboard. Hope This Helps Steve
