Maybe its the removable rack that it recognised as new hardware. > however now when booted it doesn't show > up as part of the system in My computer. > Do I need to use bios settings to let the system know what > I have installed, or should it have automatically detect it? It would normally detect a drive added automatically if the drive type is set to AUTO AUTO in the cmos. Is the drive showing up on the black bios screen at boot time ? You can pause that screen using the Pause key with most systems. > Any help would be greatly appreciated, as there are many pages > dealing with installing and formatting a drive, but apparently none > dealing with installing without formatting on the web. Basically the drive should just show up in Explorer etc if its partitioned and formatted. And should be visible on the black bios screen at boot time too.
