Chris, you left out the rest of the equation.  It also depends on the
machine your running it on, it's configuration, it's available resources,
and the current percentage of fragmentation of the hard disk.

I have yet to see you offer proof to this claim.  My computing and
programming knowledge tells me otherwise.  But, I'm opened to be
enlightened.
