In the news article dated 29 Dec 1996, it was said by

There were several new features added to the program from 2.51 to 2.6. As I
have deleted the text files that gave the details I can't list them, but
to me as I said that is an upgrade not a patch, so I don't agree with you,
I think most software companies would call that an upgrade.

Don't be so patronising as to assume I still am, I do know how to use a
help file which I read before posting my reply, as I made the assumption
before posting that I needed to check that the last upgrade to Agent
hadn't changed things

Yes it does, but that is not what I said. Agent needs a separate directory,
I prefer the Windows 3.1 term, for each user, and for each user to have a
shortcut on the desktop and to start their own copy of the program, albeit
that common files can be kept in one directory. NetcGold needs only one
copy of the program running and can do all of that, and as far as
collecting email the same copy of the program handles all users. It holds
all the details for all the users in one directory.

Well I have only tried Agent and Netcetera, but Agent is not a multi-user
program in the way Netcetera is. Personally I don't see a problem with
making an additional charge for more than a given number of users. If
Forte choose to do otherwise that is their commercial choice.

I asked because it appeared there was some detail lacking as to the exact
nature of the problem. As you will see from the headers I use a beta copy
of NetcGold so should in fact have more problems then you appear to, as I
am looking for the bugs.

Please say how it clashes. I have only noticed one such instance and that
is it doesn't like Agent running on the computer at the same time, which
apart from making me smile, is not a problem. If it is clashing with other
programs why do you assume all the fault is with Netcetera. If you care to
be more specific I want to try and reproduce the fault on my set up

On this we will have to differ I find the speed on a par with Agent on my
system.

>> 3. I cannot get support from Netcetera, even though I paid for this.
>> My copy of NetcGold has clashed and is unusable.

This I find very strange, unless you have been unreasonable in your
expectations of the support you require. I have normally had answers in a
reasonable time, usually as long as it takes them to reproduce the fault
and find a answer for it.
