Can someone tell me what could be wrong: I installed a second CD-drive and I believe it's since than that I have no longer sound from audio-CD's. As far as I have controlled, I think all the settings are right, concerning multimedia in the properties panel. The audio cable connected to the soundcard is OK. I also tested another card, same result. Audio from CD is enabled and I recieve none error messages. When I insert a CD, the audio panel comes up and starts playing, although without sound. IDE-configuration: MB-primary = 2 x HD MB-secondary = HD (master) and CD-RW (slave) Soundcard SB32 = CD - drive (master) The audio-cable is connected with the CD-RW. Connecting with the other CD-drive gives the same result. Any help is welcome, thanks, Willy

Are the cable leads going to the right pins. Some soundcards or cables do not have the keyed plugs. Check and make sure that a hot signal is going to hot pins and that ground signals are going to ground pins. Also, I think SB have two or three different connectors. Try the others out. 2. Make sure that your master or cd-audio volume is not on mute or turned all the way down. You can usually check your mixer setting by the little speaker on the far right of your toolbar. This sound idiotic, but I get an irrate customer about every 3 months with this one. :)
