Perhaps the thinking goes along these lines... They must commute to work and there is no viable public transit. (Viable public transit dismantled by oil & auto companies.) They must buy from the oil companies because there are no alternatives available to fuel their personal vehicle. (Electric vehicles taken out of hands of leaseholders and then crushed.) They observe that the oil companies manipulate prices and reap staggeringly huge profits in the process. They observe that the oil companies use these staggering profits to pay staggering amounts of money to a small handful of people who run the companies. They then complain about getting screwed while the CEO's laugh themselves into a coma on a yacht trip to an off-shore bank. It's like admitting to paying 'protection' money and then complaining when they burn down your place of business and break your legs anyhow. Anthony
