I agree totally with you. Surely it is not the holder of the P.E. you
should be attacking but the so-called Professional Organisations who
issue the P.E. If these people are to be rewarded, then it should be
an Honorary P.E. 
Leave it to Engineers to come up with stupid ideas !!
I know of no other profession who would hand out a professional
qualification to someone with no college education.
How would you like to be operated on by a surgeon who progressed from
hospital janitor to surgeon without college education ?  But then of
course, the medical profession are not as stupid as the so-called
engineering profession.
