Engineer designation has become common in industry, irrespective whether
the person holds a diploma, bachelor's or a master's degree. I think the
real qualified engineers should be proud to add a "Er." similar to "Dr.".
You may ask whether a person with a Ph.d is the real best engineer or P.E
qualified engineer. To me a person with a specilization in Master's would
be the best for Industry for a R&D. For manufacturing a B.S or a higher
diploma would be suitable from technical standpoint. On the overall a
person should be termed as an Engineer based on the way he deals with a
project, how he uses Science & Technology, etc.
