my real point was that the electricity utility could do the things i was
talking about, home roof top installed and utility owned solar panels are
already happening in America. also if you look at the amount of solar
energy falling on your average roof and the efficiency of the current
generation of solar cells i think the figure is about %50 coverage in
America and %30 in Australia and the homes energy needs are met.

redox batteries and fuel cells are already in use, redox batteries have
potential to allow people to purchase all of their power at off peak rates
and then use that energy as required, the batteries are efficient enough
and recycle their electrolyte, no need to understand how it works, as most
people dont understand how a microwave oven or dishwasher works i cant see
lack of skill being an issue, if it breaks you just call one of the
manufactures recommended service suppliers.

the public is willing to pay more for true clean power. now that the
mechanisms are in place to allow consumers to chose where their power is
soured from, i doubt that this style of energy selling will become popular
in America as people will be able to chose not to take power from the
nuclear generating facilities. already demand for clean power is far
outstripping supply, they cant build the wind farms fast enough. plans are
already underway to implement the scheme i outlined earlier, as it is a way
of increasing generating capacity without purchasing more land.
