He invents solar power systems in his imagination, then demands that it is all real, and that the utilities are planning to install the systems any day now. Ant's fevered delusions are kicked along by Australia's Sustainable Energy Development Authority, which is conning people into believing that by spending a few dollars extra each quarter, that they are buying green power. In reality, the extra money goes to buy a trickle of power from expensive experimental systems, required to meet our Kyoto commitments. I read in the paper a few days ago, that the system is failing to provide even a fraction of the energy required to meet our commitments. Of course it is technically possible to build a solar-powered house, independent of the grid. The problem is that it is too expensive. Ant could do it now, but he won't because he can't afford it. His dream involves nameless, faceless engineers in overalls, installing his clean power system free-of-charge. No doubt each day the men in overalls fail to appear, he blames people like me, because of my lack of faith in his solar dreamworld. Keep posting, ant. What you say often enough and loud enough, people will come to believe. ...Greig
