Steve, once more, DID you actually read my post?  Or did you skim?

(Sigh).  All right - one more time.  Yes, it is certainly more risky to
build one cooling tower than it is to install one PV panel.

However, just say our cooling tower is part of a 1MW generating plant (to
pick a random number).  How many PV panels is that? (Hint:  more than 1).

Now, I will write this slowly, so I make myself clear:  When you decide to
embark on a wholesale changeover to a new energy technology, you should take
lots of things into consideration, INCLUDING the risks associated with
extraction, conversion, manufacturing, and installation.  Society may
democratically decide to go ahead, even if the risks are higher, and I am a
democrat; I may disagree, but I accept the will of the people.

However, it is not honest to point at one energy technology and loudly decry
the risks, while ignoring the risks of the other.  Either both are
significant or neither is.  Which will it be, Steve?
