I am cross-posting this article to the new "alt.hypnosis" newsgroup, where
it is a response to an article posted on 6 November, and to the recently-
created alt.out-of-body newsgroup, which I suspect many of the readers of
alt.hypnosis may not have known about. Thanks to "Bishop" (Lionel Richard
Clark, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) for alerting me and others to Carey's
article and suggesting that I copy it to alt.out-of-body, which I will do
as a followup to the present article for the benefit of others in alt.out-
of-body. I suggest that others who post followups also cross-post to the
OBE newsgroup. Thanks.

This story is very reminiscent of what I read about Edgar Cayce some time ago,
who was apparently able to journey immense distances for the purposes of in-
specting the medical problems of people whose photographs he was sent from
all over the world. The book I read was by Jess Stearn, called _Edgar Cayce,
the Sleeping Prophet_, I think it was. There is also a series of books by
sociology professor Kyriacos Markides (University of Maine) about a healer
in his native land of Cyprus, who they call "Daskalos" ("teacher" in Greek)
who reportedly uses out-of-body travel in his own healing methods.

This is a very fascinating report, Carey. Thanks very much for recounting it!

Best regards,

Gary
