Here is Carey's article and a followup from alt.hypnosis:

When I was just a kid, I remember my father telling a storey about the days
when he was in the Navy. He had a friend who knew how to hypnotize people
and do some pretty incredible things with that person while he was under.

My dad told a storey about a night when he put someone under and asking the
others in the group who where watching this to have him send the person under
to some place he has never been.

My dad told the hypnotist to send the person to his parent's home in Michigan.
The hypnotist asked dad exactly where, the address, and city. He then 'told'
the man under his spell "You are now in the city of Niles, located in the
state of Michigan, your on Main Street, the address is 555, tell us what
you see."

The man under the spell (Who had never been to Michigan) described the front
yard, told the group of a orange brick house with a white roof, a front
porch with a flag pole, and a very large amateur radio antenna on the roof.
Of course this could not identify it as a amateur radio antenna, but he
did indeed describe it as a big antenna on the roof.

My dad was still not convinced, so he told him to go inside the house and
tell us what he saw.

When he talked it spoke of a coffin, a piano, red carpet, and a stair way.
The coffin was actually a very large flower pot in the shape of a coffin.

My dad was amazed, and then had him go into the attic of the house, and
again described several items up there.

This storey has stuck with me for my whole life, and when I saw this new news
group pop up, I thought I might share it with you.

Thats very interesting.. I have experienced one out of body
experience in my lifetime. Ever since then I could not ever
experience it again.

By the way... When that person that went under went to see your
fathers parents home, I am assuming the parents home that the person
visited was in the present?

I have be colecting various tidbits of the
last 12 years on thing such as quotes from the bible, dimensional
theories, documented near-death cases, and other miscelaneous
phenomenons and have been piecing together some very exotic and
explainable theories about the universe, galaxy, and theologic
abtracts. It is both scrary and facinating. But in order to prevent
myself from being considered insane I will leave it on a disscusionary
level.
