Help please!

I just tried to update glibc on my Red Hat 7.2 system. The version that
I installed was 2.3.2. However, toward the end of 'make install', I got
a relocation error. Now, nothing works.

There is now a libc.so.6 in /usr/lib/ and in /lib/i686/. Obviously, I
made the wrong chice by installing my version into /usr/lib.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Just to show you what I'm seeing, here is the output of the 'ls' command:

ls
ls: relocation error: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: symbol __libc_stack_end,
version GLIBC_2.1 not defined in file ld-linux.so.2 with link time reference

Thanks to anyone who will help.
