My modem is also connected to the uplink port with a straight cable. Until a couple of weeks ago, I had both computers configured with a static IP and everything was working fine. Then something happened and I can not longer have both connected at the same time to the internet, even though the computers talk to each other just fine and can each connect to the internet when the other is not connected. Last night, I was on the phone with @Home tech support for over an hour, getting bumped to a higher level of support three times. They were supposed to do further research and call me back tonight. But I did not get a call. @Home tech support said that the Motorola CyberSurfr Wave (unlike some other models) cannot be configured to accept only one IP. However, this seems to be exactly what has happened. Does anyone know for sure? -- Allan Remove "excess." from address for direct replies.
