I can't partition my hard drive

I've heard a lot of talk about Linux and open source software, so I decided
that I wanted to look in and see what exactly Linux was. Weeellll, I sat
down to get started installing Slackware Linux and I couldn't partition my
hard drive. I tried using FIPS and it told me that my last cylinder wasn't
empty. I had run windows defrag immediatly before running FIPS. I was
wondering if Windows might've written something to my hard drive while I was
closing down windows95. I thought of using Dos defrag, but I noticed that
when we installed Win95 it was overritten with win defrag. Can anyone help
me?

Heh we feel klusters pain. Anyway just try to use the ones including on the
linux install cd, such as disk druid, or go get Partition magic, it works
good with FAT32 and should work.

Why do you cross-post? What is the point of having different ng's if
you are going to spread your beans all over? You are pissing-off some
people who may have wanted to reply...
