How can i make my offboard PCI Promise Ultra66 EIDE controller work AND be bootable with RedHat 6.1 (Kernel 2.2.12-20). I would like to be able to run a lilo dual boot W95/linux from the same HDD on different partitions. Promise has provided a set of beta drivers for kernel version 2.2.5 which works but i can't make them work whenm using kernel 2.2.12-20 (their not just supposed to work with insmod but should be loaded at boot time in the initrd according to the setup script provided with the drivers) please help!! I thought this would work with the kernel already, and I've done gone out and bought one. From /usr/src/linux/Documentation/ide.txt: - support for any mix of up to *eight* IDE drives That would mean the MB controller + the Ultra 66... The Hardware-HOWTO says: With up to two IDE interfaces and up to four hard drives and/or CD-ROM drives. Now I'm really confused. I'll be working on it this weekend. I'll let you know what I figure it out. Where did you find these drivers? Bryan

There seems to be a ide.2.2.13.etc patch posted yesterday. I'd be willing to try 2.2.13. -- Bryan Veal, Graphics Technician I <veal@uga.edu> Service and Outreach Warnell School of Forest Resources The University of Georgia
