There are probably 3 out there.  They were grandfathered in under
policys that changed and those people were exempted.

It has happened to many people.  
It is the same thing that I have faced.  They forced me to sell off 
everything I had just to survive just as your friend has done. 
They take everything and expect you to survive on nothing.

This is what a person has to go through appeals repeatedly over.

They forced me to take out student loans and go to school. The loans 
increased my debts but didn't make me any more employable with the 
disorders progression.  Then I was forced into an employment empowerment 
program for the disabled.

Going to school and to that program was redundant and a waste of money 
The only change was a gain in knowledge however, I am still disabled 
and unemployable.  Nothing has changed that.

You found one of the biggest problems that there is to the whole
of AISH.  The pure stupidity of the idiots in power who set up those
policies in the first place.
