I just purchaced my $16 battery from Melb Uni puter supplys (no
contacts-yay!). However when i removed the cover of my LC, i was presented
with the problem of removing my battery from its case. It is held in place
by a black plastic cover.
How does one go about romoving this (without damaging ones machine). 
Also i am mindful of the whole static issue, but do i need to earth myself
if i have floorboards? The only way i know how to do it is by rubbing my
feet on carpet and touching somethimg metal. (I have bought a garish
polyester jumper, that seems to be creating its own electrical current
through static, so i am a bit wary about touching the innards of my LC).
