Yes, notebooks are easily stolen from backpacks that are not designed to hold them or if you are stupid enough to leave your bag open too long to expose its contents. Usually, notebook backpacks will have a sleave that fits the notebook securely and this makes it more difficult for a 'one hand job'. Most notebook thieves know about Targus backpacks and will look for that name when seeking out a target. Stealth is the best defense. If the notebook pack doesn't look like a notebook backpack, and doesn't say Targus on it, there is a reduced risk of theft. I know of a few people that have had their Targus branded packs and briefcases stolen but have been safe so far using notebook bags that look like normal book sacs. I'd say that backpacks are much less obvious than those hand carried computer briefcases. aw "Janek Czekaj" <JanekNOSPAMCzekaj@NOSPAMhotmailNOSPAM.com> wrote in message news:KByS7.5553$pb4.873318@news2-win.server.ntlworld.com... > Saw an episode of Oprah this week with some cop talking about how simple it > is for laptops to be taken from backpacks.
