Can a laptop case or backpack be carried onboard an airplane in addition to
a carry-on piece of luggage?
Thanks, Anne

| Yes, notebooks are easily stolen from backpacks that are not designed to
hold them or if you are
| stupid enough to leave your bag open too long to expose its contents.
Usually, notebook backpacks
| will have a sleave that fits the notebook securely and this makes it more
difficult for a 'one hand
| job'. Most notebook thieves know about Targus backpacks and will look for
that name when seeking
| out a target. Stealth is the best defense. If the notebook pack doesn't
look like a notebook
| backpack, and doesn't say Targus on it, there is a reduced risk of theft.
I know of a few people
| that have had their Targus branded packs and briefcases stolen but have
been safe so far using
| notebook bags that look like normal book sacs. I'd say that backpacks are
much less obvious than
| those hand carried computer briefcases.
