|: If it really is a 4/110, it has a switch labelled "NORM/DIAG" on the
|: front panel. Power down, switch to "DIAG" and try again. Be prepared
|: to wait half an hour or so for the extended self test to complete,

|This is a followup to my followup! :-)
|I left the machine on for about half and hour and when I returned it, the
|DIAG LEDS displayed the following:
|(The left bit is the top LED on the VME card)
|
|01001000
|
|Unfortunantly this is meaningless to me as I can't get the LED specs for
|the 4/110.

when the CPU is in the slot, the topmost LED is the
most significant bit - this error is test 0x8, which
tests the TOD clock interrupt. Bit 6 on says that
an exception class error was detected.

Serial port A is closest to be bottom, next to the
SCSI connector - you need a null modem to a 9600 bps
terminal or pc with terminal emulator software. The
diagnostic routines should be pumping out yards of
test gunge to the serial port (which should be visible
unless the baud rate has been changed in the NVRAM).
