Hello to all,

I recently installed a Mastushita (Panasonic) CD Writer CW-7501 on a Symbios
Logic 8100S PCI SCSI Adapter...

On my old computer (Pentium 166 o.c. at 180), no problem.
I'd kept the default SCSI ID on the CDR (ID 6), but I need to connect a SCSI
scanner and the adapter manual tells me this type of peripheral must be set
at the last ID (6), so I've set the CDR ID at 1 (I think I didn't test it on
this computer, but I don't remember...)

In the meantime, I changed my computer (Pentium II 333), and then I got the
problem...
The CDR writes data without problem, but it can't finalize either sessions
nor disks... (It happened with 2 blue CDs without brand)
Nevertheless, I can read the CDs in any recent IDE CD-ROM, but not in the
CDR ! So I can't write multi-sessions, and I absolutely need it for
backups...

The scanner is not connected actually, and I didn't change any jumper on the
CDR, except SCSI ID (1 open, 2 close, 4 close to 1 close, 2 open, 4 open).
The CDR is the only SCSI device (CD and HDs are EIDE).

If anybody can help me, please mail me as I don't go often on newsgroups...

Thanks in advance.

Bonjour tous,

carte Symbios Logic 8100S PCI SCSI...

Merci d'avance.
