Short answer: Yes, yes, and you have two "best" options. Windows 98 Second Edition (98SE) has Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) features. ICS uses Name Address Translation (NAT) technology to share an internet connection. NAT is based on TCP/IP protocol. Any client computer (the 95 OSR2 machine) which can see the 98SE computer through a TCP/IP connection, can utilize ICS. This includes Windows 3.1, WfW, Win95 (all flavors), Windows 98, Windows NT, Linux, OS/2, Unix, Be, etc etc. Even if you have a box with nothing but DOS on it, it can use it as long as it can access the LAN (the network in your house/office) via TCP/IP. As for the best way to connect the two computers, that's up to you. Yes, there are products which are designed to use USB as the network interface. I'm not sure of the name, but just do a web search on "USB Network adapter". However, due to the nature of USB, you may just want to get a PCcard network adapter for the lap top. If you wife's work has a network in the office, you -may- be able to get the company to pay for it. If you're really interested in the possibility of USB, check out http://www.usbstop.com/ http://www.usbstop.com/view1.cfm?id=PC http://www.techadvice.com/help/Products/U/USBnetAdapters.htm In article <7fj73.3244$GT.4712@news.rdc1.mi.home.com>, "Clocker Rocker" <harp300@hotmail.com> wrote: >SITUATION: >My home desktop (Celeron 464A/128MB RAM) is connected to the 'net via cable >modem.
