Simple. How would you prove that you were an American and entitled
to enter this country? Only in the movies do they let you pass
when you tell them the winners of '48 world series. How do you
prove citizenship, but by passport or certified birth certificate?

Once again how do you prove it without a passport?

They would detain you until you could provide proof.

You seem to be confused as to the different types of discharges
	possible.

1 "Honorable discharge: An honorable discharge means a separation
	with honor."

2"General discharge:...	In most cases, general discharge, goes to
those whose conduct and performance, though satisfactory, has not
been good enough to deserve an honorable discharge...ineptitude,
	unsuitability."

3"Undesirable Discharge....by administrative for misconduct or
	breach of security" Drug abuse
	4"Bad Conduct Discharge"
	5"Dishonorable Discharge ....murder, rape, arson...."

While you (civilian) may not be forced to serve time twice for
one crime I can. The military especially likes to apply this
ability to DUIs. A civilian court will convict you of driving
drunk and the military will use the civilian conviction as
a basis for their later conviction. When you finish serving
your civilian sentence you will serve a military one and
also receive other punishments: reduction in paygrade, loss of
pay while in prison, loss of priveleges, and a discharge as
	court martial may direct.

BTW to all you smart asses that will ask for quotes: "The
Blue Jacket's Manual" 20th edition Naval Institute Press
	Annapolis MD.

Movies rarely reflect reality---military, legal etc.....
