I seriously doubt that Americans would benefit by subjecting themselves to Canadian censorship. After all, if it's news, and Americans are interested, they should be able to read about it. Besides, if the US gives in to this kind of garbage, it will just encourage other junior judges to impose similar bans. At least the current situation exposes a flaw in the system. I was shocked to learn that this case is only the tip of the iceberg - there are dozens of cases a year in which this occurs. At least as a Canadian citizen with a modem, hard currency, and very sincere American generousity and friendship, I can find out the truth. Canadians are often smug about their place in North America. They consider themselves more civilized, more European, more educated than Americans. Yet how much we Canadians have to learn from our American neighbors about freedom and civil protest. Let the lessons continue.
