German-Americans and : Italian-Americans were not similarly stigmatized. To my shame one such : "relocation" camp was here in my home state of Utah. The US government : involuntarily "relocated" Japanese-Americans to the most remote areas : they could find. Constitution be damned. Actually, the German and Italians suffered considerably as well, though admittedly much less actual imprisonment, etc went on. In my mother's home town, Italian immigrants all lost their jobs, even girls whose brothers were in our army fighting for us. One Italian mine owner gave jobs to most of those fired and locals called it "The Mussolini Mine". Sure, constitutions were violated. It was a war. Everybody always throws out their constitution in war-time. Take the draft. I mean, what part of the 18th, "No slavery or Involutary Servitude" did the Supreme court have trouble understanding?
