On what grounds can C & I deny entrance to an American citizen who doesn't have a passport? Not having a passport can surely make it difficult, but surely once you manage to prove your citizenship they cannot legally prevent you. It may take a while, but you should still be able to get in no matter what C & I thinks. Or does C&I have the presumption to be able to revoke the rights of US citizenship without due process? >>| I should note >>| that dishonarable discharges are rare. While we could certainly argue for some time whether the 2nd amendment guarantees *individuals* freedom to bear arms, there cannot be any question that your constitution guarantees the right to own property and vote, except where the latter is temporarily suspended by a prison sentence. Hell, since you can get a dishonourable discharge merely for insubordination, or a disallowed concientious objector claim, loss of voting after civil+military sentence completion or property confiscation (which is what it amounts to), is a gross violation of your constitution and basic human rights. I should note that there appears to be a change in the works in Canada that would permit people serving jail terms to be able to vote. While I personally disagree with this - if being "inside" is no different than being "outside", what's the disincentive?, it does show a rather marked difference between our country and what you think your country does.
