Replying to this post could get you UDP-ed (UseNet Death Penalty). There is a
censor in the austin.internet newsgroup who issued a UDP, based upon content
which consisted of discussing, showing and arguing persuasively that an ISP,
*Texas.Net*, is scamming their customers and booting people off their system
if the people complain. If you support free speech and "consumerism" to warn
others about fraudulent practices, file your protest with austin.internet
newsgroup and support the local users. It's your free speech that is at risk.

Well, please correct me, but using words like "whining, egocentric,
repetative bullshit" (as you do above) does not mean that this is the
case. I would leave that up to the people here to examine that for
themselves.

The only groups that I've been in, with any controversy, has been
three/four Texas newsgroups about ISPs (austin.internet,
dfw.internet.providers, houston.internet.providers, and sat.general). And
the only issue that was in question or disputed originally was an ISP who
was cheating customers by their practices (and they were confirming a lot
of it themselves). This ISP is Texas.Net.

Now from that one original dispute, which is still the basis for
discussion, came all sorts of other issues like free speech, on-topic,
spamming, etc., etc., etc., -- all designed to shut up the talking about
Texas.Net scamming the public. And finally came a proposal in
austin.internet to limit "non-residents" to only five posts per day. Upon
my comment to that proposal and showing how it was nonsensical and useless
-- immediately a guy (Chip Rosenthal) issues a UDP, saying that I'm in
violation of the charter. Well, he had just invited open comments on his
changes to the charter, I commented (good reasons given) and all of a
sudden, I'm in violation of the charter and UDP-ed.

So, I don't call that "whining"...., etc. To me it sure sounds like (and
actually is) someone attempting to control the content of the newsgroups
by either arguing someone out of the group (and a lot tried that, by
simply calling names repeatedly) or finally by UDP-ing someone.

That's the only thing I'm invovled in -- and if you were in those groups
-- I just didn't see you or don't remember you.

----------

What I think is that every Altopia user should be aware of this particular
situation and attempt to do something about it and/or post something to
the austin.internet newsgroup in protest FOR free speech. That is what is
being abridged there.

If you don't want to, of course, that's your right, too.

Does your news server allow forged cancels? That promotes censorship
on content. A UseNet Death Penalty was issued because of my warning
about a crooked ISP -- ** Texas.Net ** -- cheating the customers.
Complain in a post to austin.internet about the UDP and censorship!!
