I am Mark but was writing on Sharon Williams account yesterday...ANYWAY I know I sounded kind of judgemental about amiga's I just know that the industry is centered on the pc. I run a 233mhz mmx system with windows 95 (I LOATHE MICROSOFT!!!) but what are my choices...I would happily run IBM's os2 which is a fine program but nobody makes software for it....anyway I upgraded this system for a paltry $200 from a 486x66 BY MYSELF!...with ZERO prior experience...(had literally never owned anything but one old dos 286 and had never even opened its case). There were a few minor hangups (chalk it up to having very little in the way of directions) But now I have a fully capable multimedia machine. Everything I've installed has worked fine!!!I realize this computer thing is largely just bias...but I have no experience with amigas and I am actually honestly curious why such an antiquity has remained as popular as it has? I have the opportunity the get one...(for free) and I'm wondering if its worth my while? The only experience I have with amiga's is a friend of mine has one and from what I've seen it is far more limeted in what it can do than my pc and she has just as many problems with it as anyone with a pc I ever knew anyway if you have a good argument for the amiga and can tell me about its capabilities vs pentium2...and software availibility I would be genuinely interested.
