Hi Max,

I use RH5 and Bind 8 to run my site. The syntax for the conf file has
changed dramatically.

I can probably help via email contact if you send me the IP addresses for
you 'visible' machines and their 'real' names. Also forward the alias names
for each machine. For example, my web server is eden.gmcs.com.au and it has
an alias of www.gmcs.com.au.

You will also need to let me know what your ISP's caching DNS server's name
and IP address is. This is used as a forwarder to reduce lookup times.

You would also need to let me know if you have your own portable IP address
range or an ISP allocated subnet. Also what the ip range is.

You could also send your current /etc/named.conf file and the zone files
which may only take some tweeking to get running.

As for payment, if it is relatively easy, then a delivered bottle of Tequila
will probably suffice. I have configured many bind 4 DNSes and a couple of
bind 8 ones now. It does not usually take me very long.

As for teaching you how to add other domains, you may find that the comments
I put in the config files will guide you. A few particular questions
directed to me when you need them answered may be all you need.

Unfortunately, the DNS howto is based on bind 4. This will give you the zone
file info but not the conf file stuff.

Email me directly if you want to pursue the issue
