HELP!!!! I've been up till well after the bewitching hour, two nights in a row, and still not able to get redhat to run. It seems to now recognize everything on my system, but, when it starts to load the system files, the whole system locks up after 20mb has been transferred from the CD. The system is a 75mhs pentium, 2 hdd, 2.1 and a 1.2. The 1.2, (secondary disk) has been divided into a 256mb, for windows, the rest for Linux. The Linux part is then further subdivided by the Linux boot system into 96mb swap, and the rest for the system. (c927mb). Everything appears to work fine until the system files begin to load. After 20mb is downloaded, everything just locks. Not even the 3 finger salute will get out of it. Have to turn the computer off to recover?? Anyway, very tired tonight, so back to windows. Sorry guys. Perhaps someone has the magic answer?? Perhaps I should give more info, but, I'm not able to think what. One thing that does come to mind though, when I've finished partitioning with the druid, the swap section formats, the native partition doesn't seem to?? Does this happen before the system files start to download?? Is that what the lengthy crunching and groaning is about?? Cheers, and thanks for reading.
