how to override/reset a BIOS password?

hi,
typical story... I got a motherboard with a BIOS password set on it but
the previous owner doesn't know what the password is.

Does "Discharging the CMOS" remove or reset the BIOS password?
if so, does AMIBIOS have a default password it defaults to when reset?

Thanks
