imlib 1.8-5 probs

G'day all

I have just installed the APC pocketbook with RH 5.2 and have struck a
problem with one of the packages.
I was trying to install gnome , but the install program gives me the
following error:

  GNOME install failed with the following error from rpm:

   failed dependencies:
   imlib = 1.8 is needed by imlib-cfgeditor-1.8-5

But in the Package manager under X11/Libraries I have imlib 1.8-5
installed even though it gives the following errors when verifying:

file: usr/lib/libImlib.so.1        expected:0120755
Current:0120777

I was trying to install enlightenment.

any ideas?
