i'm having trouble accessing my modem in linux. from the command line i have yet to be able to get dip to dial the modem. calling seyon from an xterm results in a responce the modem can either not be found or is hung but if i sellect seyon from the menue it starts up just fine. i don't yet know if the seyon that does start up will dial since i currently have no mouse configured into my kernel and i haven't figured a way to operate seyon by keyboard only. i can't reconfigure my kernel until i can connect online to download the kernel source. i'm using MCA patched slackware kernel 2.0.29 on an IBM PS/2 with a hayes externel modem.
