Set the environment variable DISPLAY to localhost:n.0

Where n is the value of n you used in X :n.

Using a bash shell you would do this.

bash# X :2
bash# export DISPLAY=localhost:2.0
bash# fvwm & ( or whatever window manager you use )

A small problem with this is that any program you run from that shell will
end up on the other 'screen'. A simple soluton would be to run 'bash' ( yes,
a shell inside a shell ), then type the above lines, then 'exit' to get back
to your origonal shell. This should not interfer with the previosly running
shell.

Now, when you use ALT-Fn you switch to the news X server you just started
you should find a window manager running there.

Hope this is on some help..
