Did you read about IP masquerading and all that? It's in mini-HOWTOs.

I'm not sure about default route -- maybe you have default route to
eth0 and pppd cannot delete it for some reason? Try putting the
command into /etc/ppp/ip-up -- it should fix you for now.

You could run tcpdump on your linux box and see what happens to those
Netscape connections -- do packets come in from eth0, go out to ppp0,
do replies arrive from ppp0 etc. That would give you an idea where
the problem is.

An interesting sig that I saw recently:
 "By US Code Title 47, Sec.227(a)(2)(B), a computer/modem/printer meet
the
definition of a telephone fax machine. By Sec.227(b)(1)(C), it is
unlawful
to send any unsolicited advertisement to such equipment. By
Sec.227(b)(3)(C),
a violation of the aforementioned Section is punishable by action to
recover
actual monetary loss, or $500, whichever is greater, for each
violation."
